Job summary

Kimley-Horn is seeking Engineering students to join our Chamblee, Georgia office for Summer 2027. This is not a remote position and offers hands-on experience on structural projects.

You will use software like AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Excel and more to analyze, design, and deliver plans for bridges and other structures, while learning regulatory practices and client collaboration.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited engineering degree required (Bachelors or Masters).
• Majors include Civil/Environmental, Structural, Mechanical, Electrical, Biological, Biosystems, Chemical or Agricultural Engineering, or Engineering Technology.

Overview

Kimley-Horn is looking for Engineering students to join our Chamblee, Georgia (GA)office for Summer 2027! This is not a remote position.

Responsibilities

• Utilize technical software programs on a regular basis to analyze, produce, and QC deliverables for our clients.
• Contribute to the pre-construction on structural projects like bridges, retaining walls, and other structural design efforts related to public and/or private bridge projects.
• Prepare bridge/structural plans, specifications and estimates for clients
• Solve complex problems, assist project managers, and collaborate across disciplines to produce our clients’ visions for the future built environment.
• Develop familiarity with the federal, state, and local regulations, as well as Kimley-Horn’s and our client’s practices, procedures, and standards.
• Structural Interns will learn one or more software programs: AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Excel, Microstation, VISSIM, Open Roads, Synchro and/or GIS

Qualifications

• In the process of receiving an ABET accredited engineering degree (Bachelors or Masters) in one of the following majors:
  • Civil and/or Environmental Engineering
  • Structural Engineering
  • Mechanical, Electrical, Biological, Biosystems, Chemical, or Agricultural Engineering
  • Engineering Technology
