Job summary

Kimley-Horn in Chamblee, Georgia is seeking Engineering students for Summer 2027. This on-site internship focuses on civil/environmental engineering with hands-on use of industry tools and collaboration across disciplines.

Interns will gain exposure to regulations and standard practices while learning software such as AutoCAD, Revit, Civil 3D, Excel, Microstation, VISSIM, Open Roads, Synchro and GIS as part of project deliverables.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited engineering degree track in civil or environmental fields.
• Enrollment in an ABET-accredited program leading to bachelor’s or master’s degree.
• Majors include civil, environmental, mechanical, biosystems, chemical or agricultural engineering; or engineering technology.

Responsibilities

• Utilize technical software programs to analyze, produce, and QC deliverables for our clients.
• Contribute to pre-construction civil engineering design, planning, modification, permitting, and analysis for multiple projects.
• Solve complex problems, assist project managers, and collaborate across disciplines to realize client visions.
• Develop familiarity with federal, state, and local regulations as well as Kimley-Horn’s practices and standards.
• Interns will learn software programs such as AutoCAD, Revit, Civil 3D, Excel, Microstation, VISSIM, Open Roads, Synchro and/or GIS.

Overview

Kimley-Horn is looking for Engineering students to join our Chamblee, Georgia (GA)office for Summer 2027! This is not a remote position.

Responsibilities

• Utilize technical software programs on a regular basis to analyze, produce, and QC deliverables for our clients.
• Contribute to the pre-construction civil engineering design, planning, modification, permitting, and analysis for multiple projects ranging in size and scope.
• Solve complex problems, assist project managers, and collaborate across disciplines to produce our clients’ visions for the future built environment.
• Develop familiarity with the federal, state, and local regulations, as well as Kimley-Horn’s and our client’s practices, procedures, and standards.
• Interns will learn one or more software programs specific to their disciplines: AutoCAD, Revit, Civil 3D, Excel, Microstation, VISSIM, Open Roads, Synchro and/or GIS

Qualifications

• In the process of receiving an ABET accredited engineering degree (Bachelors or Masters) in one of the following majors:
  • Civil and/or Environmental Engineering
  • Mechanical, Biological, Biosystems, Chemical, or Agricultural Engineering
  • Engineering Technology
