Job summary

Schuff Steel Company in Stockton, CA is seeking a Production Fitter-Welder to assemble and weld structural materials for complex commercial, bridge, and industrial projects. The role requires reading drawings, following AWS/AISC welding procedures, and performing assembly and fit-up tasks with precision.

Qualifications

• Must pass required weld test and fitter test.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and drawings.
• Knowledge of heat reactions of structural metals and welding procedures.

Responsibilities

• Follows welding procedures (AWS, AISC).
• Welds on ground, above ground, and below ground in required positions.
• Chips, peens and grinds material to prepare for welding or finish.
• Welds structural materials such as plates, girders, tanks, etc., with close tolerances.
• Reads and interprets blueprints and plans fitting operations.
• Maintains clean and organized work area and adheres to safety rules.
