Job summary

Schuff Steel Co. is seeking a Production Welder to join a world-class leader in building structures and bridges. The role requires welding a variety of materials using FCAW, SMAW, GMAW and SAW in multiple positions, with adherence to AWS and AISC procedures. A valid weld test and knowledge of structural metals are essential.

Qualifications

• Must pass a required weld test.
• Ability to read safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions.
• Knowledge of AWS D1.1 welding standards and structural metal behavior.
• Experience with structural, bridge and industrial welding is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Follow AWS, AISC welding procedures.
• Weld on ground, above ground, and below ground in required positions.
• Chip, grind and finish material for welding.
• Weld structural, bridge and industrial materials with tight tolerances.
• Perform gouging and scarfing as needed.
• Capable of passing welding tests per AWS D1.1.
• Transport material by crane as needed; keep area clean.
• Perform other routine duties as directed and follow safety rules.
