Zusammenfassung

Southwest Shipyard, LP is seeking a fabricator/structural fitter to fabricate, assemble, and install metal structures per blueprints. You will cut, fit, and weld parts, inspect quality, and coordinate with welders and trades to ensure structural integrity on projects.

The role requires working on-site at Channelview, TX with varied shifts, safety compliance, and the ability to lift and maneuver heavy components. TWIC eligibility and prior shipyard fitting experience are preferred.

Qualifikationen

• Must have or be eligible to obtain a TWIC card.
• Minimum one year experience as a structural fitter (shipyard experience preferred).
• Be able to perform simple paper work for forms and logs.
• Must have good judgment, work initiative, and follow supervisor directions.
• Understand company Quality, Environmental & Safety procedures.

Aufgaben

• Lays out, positions, aligns and fits fabricated structural steel plates per specs.
• Perform structural fitter assignments and work safely.
• Notify foreman/supervisor of safety or structural issues.
• Move parts into position with hoist or crane and align parts.
• Tack weld as necessary and guide welder on buildup.
• Attend safety meetings and maintain a safe workplace.
