Stand-By Personnel is seeking an experienced Structural Fitter for an immediate, short-term industrial fabrication project in the Tulsa area. This assignment involves fitting, assembling, welding, and modifying structural components as part of repairs to an industrial water storage tank. Candidates must have previous structural fitting experience, hands‑on experience with MIG (GMAW) and Flux‑Core (FCAW) welding, and the ability to read and interpret fabrication blueprints. Some welding and fabrication activities will be performed inside the water storage tank, requiring adherence to confined space safety procedures. All required confined space training will be provided before applicable work begins. This is an approximately 3‑week assignment offering competitive pay of $24.00–$32.00 per hour, based on experience. No weld test is required. Qualified candidates must be available to start immediately and commit to completing the full project.
Candidates must have practical experience fitting and assembling structural steel components in an industrial fabrication environment. Responsibilities include interpreting fabrication drawings, measuring materials, preparing joints, positioning components, and maintaining proper alignment before welding. Strong attention to dimensional accuracy and fit‑up quality is essential for completing repairs and modifications correctly.
This position requires previous hands‑on experience with both MIG and Flux‑Core welding processes. Candidates should be comfortable preparing weld joints, performing tack welding, and completing applicable structural welds according to project specifications. The ability to maintain consistent weld quality while working in different fabrication positions is important.
This project focuses on repairing and modifying an existing industrial water storage tank. Candidates will assist with structural fit‑up, component assembly, material preparation, and welding activities associated with the tank modifications. Work must be completed according to applicable drawings, specifications, and project requirements.
Some fitting and welding activities will take place inside the water storage tank. Candidates must be comfortable performing assigned work in a confined space and following all required safety procedures. All required confined space training will be provided. Work inside the tank will be performed under applicable confined space entry procedures, including required authorization, atmospheric monitoring, ventilation, fire prevention, and emergency safety measures as appropriate to the work. Candidates must follow all company safety policies and use required personal protective equipment.
Candidates must be able to read and interpret structural fabrication blueprints, technical drawings, and welding specifications. Responsibilities include identifying required dimensions, determining component positioning, following layout requirements, and verifying measurements throughout the fitting process. Strong measurement and layout skills are essential for maintaining accuracy during repairs and modifications.

Inspect completed work for visible defects, verify applicable dimensions, and follow established project specifications. Candidates must be able to work efficiently while maintaining attention to safety, quality, and structural integrity.
Previous experience as a Structural Fitter, Fabrication Fitter, Structural Welder/Fitter, or related industrial fabrication professional is preferred. Experience with structural steel repairs, industrial tank fabrication, MIG welding, Flux‑Core welding, blueprint interpretation, and confined space work is especially valuable. Candidates with previous experience completing industrial repair or modification projects are strongly encouraged to apply.
Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, lift, carry, and work in various fitting and welding positions throughout the shift. Candidates must be comfortable performing physically demanding fabrication work around industrial welding equipment, metal components, grinders, sparks, heat, and fabrication machinery. Some work will involve restricted movement and positioning inside a water storage tank. All required PPE, welding protection, and confined space safety procedures must be followed.
