Job summary

Valmont is seeking a skilled Fitter to lay out, align, and fit steel components based on blueprints and shop drawings. You will tack weld before final welding and ensure precise measurements for accuracy.

You will operate overhead cranes and various hand and power tools, maintaining a clean work area and adhering to strict safety protocols as part of a high-performing team.

Qualifications

  • 1+ year of layout or fitting experience in a manufacturing or fabrication environment.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, tape measures, and layout tools.
  • Familiarity with tack welding and fabrication processes.
  • Experience using overhead cranes, grinders, and cutting tools.
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • A strong safety mindset and pride in quality workmanship.

Responsibilities

  • Laying out, aligning, and fitting steel parts according to blueprints and shop drawings.
  • Tack welding components prior to final weld.
  • Measuring and verifying dimensions for accuracy.
  • Operating overhead cranes and hand/power tools safely.
  • Maintaining a clean, organized work area.
  • Following all safety protocols and contributing to a high-performing team.

Available Shifts:

  • 2nd - Monday to Thursday from 5:00pm - 3:30am
  • 4th - Friday to Sunday from 5:00am - 5:00pm

Pay: $29.35/hr. with night s hift differential of $2/hr. Pay increase at 90-day to $30.38/hr and 6-month anniversary to $30.38/hr
