Job summary

Valmont Industries, Inc. is hiring a Fitter in Tulsa, Oklahoma. You will lay out, align, and fit steel parts from blueprints, prepare components for final assembly, and support welders and fabricators on the shop floor.

Ideal candidates bring layout experience, blueprint reading skills, and a strong safety mindset. The role offers full-time hours with shift differentials and opportunities to advance in welding, fabrication, and leadership.

Qualifications

• 1+ year of layout or fitting experience in a manufacturing or fabrication environment.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, tape measures, and layout tools.
• Familiarity with tack welding and fabrication processes.
• Experience using overhead cranes, grinders, and cutting tools.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• A strong safety mindset and pride in quality workmanship.

Responsibilities

• Laying out, aligning, and fitting steel parts according to blueprints and shop drawings.
• Tack welding components prior to final weld.
• Measuring and verifying dimensions for accuracy.
• Operating overhead cranes and hand/power tools safely.
• Maintaining a clean, organized work area.
• Following all safety protocols and contributing to a high-performing team.

Available Shifts

• 2nd - Monday to Thursday from 5:00pm - 3:30am
• 4th - Friday to Sunday from 5:00am - 5:00pm

Pay: $29.35/hr. with night shift differential of $2/hr. Pay increase at 90-day to $30.38/hr and 6-month anniversary to $30.38/hr

What You’ll Do

As a Fitter, you’ll lay the groundwork for welders and fabricators by interpreting blueprints, aligning parts, and prepping steel components for final assembly. Your precision and layout skills help ensure the structural integrity of every finished product. Your responsibilities include:

• Laying out, aligning, and fitting steel parts according to blueprints and shop drawings
• Tack welding components prior to final weld
• Measuring and verifying dimensions for accuracy
• Operating overhead cranes and hand/power tools safely
• Maintaining a clean, organized work area
• Following all safety protocols and contributing to a high-performing team
