Job summary

LVI Associates in Dallas-Fort Worth seeks a licensed Structural Engineering Project Manager to lead a varied portfolio of building projects. This client-facing role offers meaningful ownership of project delivery, team development and account growth, with a clear route toward senior leadership.

You will oversee budgets, programmes and quality, mentor engineers, and coordinate cross-office teams while strengthening client relationships and pursuing new opportunities in the region.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering; master's degree advantageous.
  • Active Professional Engineer license; Structural Engineer registration desirable.
  • Approximately 7–15 years of structural engineering experience.
  • Proven track record managing building projects and client relationships.
  • Experience controlling scope, fees, schedules, resources and quality.
  • Strong technical understanding of steel, concrete and masonry structures.
  • Experience with facilities in commercial, industrial, education, healthcare or similar sectors.
  • Experience with new-build, renovation, repair or adaptive reuse projects.
  • Familiarity with Revit, RISA, ETABS, RAM, SAFE, SAP2000, Enercalc or Tekla.
  • Confident in leading meetings and presenting recommendations.
  • Commercial awareness balancing client service and profitability.
  • Experience mentoring engineers and coordinating multiple projects.

Responsibilities

  • Lead structural engineering projects from scope through design and construction completion.
  • Serve as primary contact for clients, architects, contractors and consultants.

  • Mentor developing engineers and support progression to greater responsibility.

Key Responsibilities


  • Lead structural engineering projects from initial scope and fee development through design, documentation and construction completion

  • Serve as the primary contact for clients, architects, contractors and external consultants

  • Manage project budgets, programmes, resources, deliverables and commercial performance

  • Coordinate multidisciplinary teams to keep projects progressing and resolve issues efficiently

  • Oversee structural analysis, calculations, reports, specifications and construction documents

  • Review engineering and BIM deliverables to maintain technical accuracy and consistent quality

  • Allocate work across project teams and provide clear direction to engineers and technical staff

  • Manage RFIs, submittal reviews, site observations and other construction-phase requirements

  • Identify scope changes, communicate their impact and support additional service discussions

  • Prepare proposals, fee estimates and project approaches for new opportunities

  • Strengthen existing client relationships while helping to secure repeat and referral business

  • Mentor developing engineers and support their progression towards greater project responsibility

  • Collaborate with technical specialists and project teams across multiple offices


Skills & Experience


  • Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering; a relevant master's degree would be advantageous

  • Active Professional Engineer licence required; Structural Engineer registration is desirable

  • Approximately 7 to 15 years of structural engineering experience

  • A proven record of managing building projects, client relationships and internal design teams

  • Experience controlling project scope, fees, schedules, resources and quality

  • Strong technical understanding of steel, reinforced concrete and masonry structures

  • Exposure to commercial, industrial, education, healthcare, mission-critical or specialist facilities

  • Experience with new-build, renovation, repair or adaptive reuse projects

  • Familiarity with software such as Revit, RISA, ETABS, RAM, SAFE, SAP2000, Enercalc or Tekla

  • Confident leading meetings, presenting recommendations and handling challenging project conversations

  • Commercial awareness with the ability to balance client service, technical quality and profitability

  • Previous experience mentoring engineers and coordinating multiple projects simultaneously
