Job summary

Conrad Consulting is assisting a well-established structural and civil engineering firm that seeks a full-time Structural Project Manager for its Fort Worth, TX office. The role covers commercial, education, healthcare, industrial, historical, and hospitality sectors.

You will mentor a multi-level team, manage projects from planning through construction administration, and nurture client relationships while collaborating with various departments to achieve firm goals.

Qualifications

  • ABET-accredited Civil or Architectural Engineering degree
  • 5+ years' structural engineering experience in the consulting industry
  • 2+ years' experience leading a project team
  • Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office
  • Familiar with Federal, State, and Local permitting requirements
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

Responsibilities

  • Manage structural engineering projects from design development through construction administration

The Opportunity

Our client is currently seeking a full-time, exempt Structural Project Manager based in their Fort Worth office. This role spans a variety of market sectors including commercial, education, healthcare, industrial, historical, and hospitality.

As a mid-level leader, you will balance mentorship and client relationship management while overseeing the full project scope from planning through construction administration. You will manage a multi-level team, empowering them to take ownership of their work and processes, while guiding their professional growth. Using strong communication skills, you will build positive client relationships and collaborate across departments to achieve company goals.

Expected Duties
  • Manage structural engineering projects from design development through construction administration, balancing priorities, budgets, quality, and scheduled deadlines
  • Deliver profitable projects by adhering to budgets and schedules, identifying deviations, managing resources effectively, and promptly completing tasks
  • Develop and maintain quality control processes, encouraging total quality management principles, fostering continuous improvement, and mitigating risks
  • Forge and maintain professional relationships with clients, architects, consultants, general contractors, and internal engineering departments; collaborate to create solutions and establish consistent communication with full ownership over the project and process
  • Collaborate with internal departments, including Marketing, to identify and pursue business development opportunities and secure a pipeline of work; facilitate seamless operations by liaising with support departments, participating in recruiting, ensuring proper billing procedures, and fostering positive employee relations
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to early-career engineers, maintaining a balance between driving performance and empowering professional growth; create and implement training opportunities and provide coaching to bridge skill gaps
  • Attend site visits prior to beginning design and through construction completion
  • Master design and drafting software to produce high-quality engineering documents
Requirements
  • Degree in Civil Engineering or Architectural Engineering with an emphasis in Structural Engineering from an ABET-accredited program
  • At least 5 years' experience working in a Structural Engineering role within the consulting industry
  • At least 2 years' experience leading a team as a Project Manager
  • Intermediate proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office
  • Well-versed in Federal, State, and Local regulatory and permitting requirements
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills - relationship building is central to how this team operates
