Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering with an emphasis in Structural Engineering.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license.
• At least 4 years of experience in structural engineering.
• Experience with US building codes, including IBC, ASCE 7, ACI, and AISC.
• Experience with structural engineering analysis software, Navisworks, and Bluebeam.
• Experience designing and analyzing traditional steel and concrete structures.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Under general supervision, perform conventional aspects of structural engineering analysis and design.
• Plan and conduct work requiring independent evaluation, selection, and adaptation of engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria; use sound engineering judgment and problem-solving skills.
• Apply principles and practices of lateral analysis and design for wind and seismic conditions, including required building-code provisions.
• Maintain a high level of attention to detail and quality control; check your own work and perform calculation checking of other engineers’ work.
• Manage workload and commitments while taking ownership of assigned structural scope and meeting schedule, budget, and quality requirements.
• Define scope, forecast the level of effort needed to complete assigned work, identify scope changes, and escalator changes to the Structural Lead.
• Recognize when guidance is needed and reach out to peers and senior engineers for assistance or confirmation.
• Work in a timely, accurate, and cost-effective manner.
• Provide technical guidance, coaching, and/or mentorship to designers, drafters, and less experienced engineers.
• Proactively advance workflows, systems, and tools within the structural discipline and embrace emerging technologies.

Required Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications

• MS degree in Civil Engineering with an emphasis in Structural Engineering or MS degree in Structural Engineering.
• Experience in semiconductor industrial or general industrial facilities.
• Experience leading small teams.

Work Environment

• Employees working from home provide internet service as required to meet project performance requirements.
• Candidates must be able to perform field walks. Although not common, this may include climbing ladders, crawling under raised access floors, and walking or standing for extended periods.
