Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering with an emphasis in Structural Engineering.
• Professional Engineer license (PE).
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in structural engineering.
• Experience with U.S. building codes: IBC, ASCE 7, ACI, AISC.
• Experience with Navisworks and Bluebeam.
• Experience designing and analyzing traditional steel and concrete structures.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills.

Job Summary As a Structural Engineering Professional, you will perform structural analysis and design for projects involving traditional steel and concrete structures. You will apply U.S. building codes, including IBC, ASCE 7, ACI, and AISC, and coordinate structural requirements with designers and other disciplines. The role includes calculation checking, ownership of assigned structural scope, workload management, and technical guidance for less-experienced engineers and designers.

PAY: $48.00/hr - $64.00/hr DOE LOCATION: Houston, TX WORK TYPE: Hybrid - US Southeast Region: AL, AR, DE, FL, GA, KS, KY, LA, MD, MO, MS, NC, OK, SC, TN, TX, or VA SCHEDULE: Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Job Responsibilities

• Perform conventional aspects of structural engineering analysis and design under general supervision.
• Plan and conduct work requiring independent evaluation, selection, and adaptation of engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria.
• Apply principles and practices of lateral analysis and design for wind and seismic loads, including applicable building-code provisions.
• Design and analyze traditional steel and concrete structures using U.S. building codes, including IBC, ASCE 7, ACI, and AISC.
• Check calculations prepared by other engineers and maintain a high level of attention to detail and quality control.
• Manage assigned workload and take ownership of structural scope, schedule, budget, and quality requirements.
• Define scope and forecast the level of effort when conditions of satisfaction are not fully defined.
• Identify scope changes and elevate them to the Structural Lead.
• Provide technical guidance, coaching, or mentorship to designers, drafters, and less-experienced engineers.
• Advance structural workflows, systems, tools, and the use of emerging technologies.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering with an emphasis in Structural Engineering.
• Professional Engineer license (PE).
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in structural engineering.
• Experience with U.S. building codes, including IBC, ASCE 7, ACI, and AISC.
• Experience with structural engineering analysis software, Navisworks, and Bluebeam.
• Experience designing and analyzing traditional steel and concrete structures.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's degree in Civil Engineering with an emphasis in Structural Engineering or a master's degree in Structural Engineering.
• Experience in semiconductor industrial or general industrial facilities.
• Experience leading small teams.

Work Environment

This hybrid/remote position may require work from the nearest local office at least two days per week or from home in the U.S. Southeast Region: AL, AR, DE, FL, GA, KS, KY, LA, MD, MO, MS, NC, OK, SC, TN, TX, or VA. You must be able to perform field walks, which may occasionally include climbing ladders, crawling under raised access floors, or walking or standing for extended periods. Employees must provide internet service as required at home to meet project performance requirements.
