Job summary

DCI Engineers in San Diego, CA seeks a Structural Engineering Project Manager to lead complex building projects and mentor junior engineers. The role leverages your structural design experience and client-management skills to drive success from concept through construction.

You will coordinate across teams, prepare proposals, oversee calculations, and ensure high-quality construction documents while fostering long-term client relationships.

Qualifications

• 1-3+ years of structural project management experience and 4+ years of structural design engineering experience.
• ABET-accredited Civil Engineering degree and PE license are required.
• Experience with steel, concrete, wood, and masonry design.
• Experience with building evaluations, renovations, and seismic retrofits.
• Strong communication with clients and internal teams; mentoring others.

Responsibilities

• Lead building projects from start to finish.
• Develop, coordinate, and direct engineering documents.
• Prepare fee proposals and contracts.
• Develop workload and scheduling projections for staff.
• Oversee design calculations and construction document coordination.
• Coordinate with BIM Designers and provide construction observations.
• Review shop drawings and manage additional service requests and billing.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships.
