Job summary

DCI Engineers in San Francisco, CA, is seeking a Structural Engineering Project Manager to lead complex building projects from start to finish. You will mentor junior engineers, coordinate with BIM Designers, and develop client relationships while ensuring technical excellence and timely delivery.

The position is full-time and in-office in San Francisco. A Civil Engineering degree and PE license are required, with 5–10 years of structural engineering and 2–3 years of staff management experience.

Qualifications

• 5–10 years of structural engineering experience including project management.
• 2–3 years managing staff on multiple projects (4–5 concurrently).
• ABET-accredited Civil Engineering degree and PE license.
• Experience with steel, concrete, wood, and masonry design.
• Experience with seismic retrofits and building evaluations.
• Strong client communication and teamwork across project teams.
• Ability to lead and mentor junior engineers.

Responsibilities

• Lead building projects from start to finish.
• Prepare fee proposals and contracts.
• Develop workload and scheduling projections for project staff.
• Oversee calculations, design, and analysis of project elements.
• Coordinate with engineers and BIM Designers to align design and docs.
• Perform construction observations and prepare reports.
• Review shop drawings during construction.
• Develop and maintain strong client relationships.
