Job summary

Walbec is seeking a Structural Engineer Summer 2027 Internship to support our civil and structural teams on diverse projects across the Midwest. You will assist with concrete, steel, and timber design, review requirements, and participate in field visits to gain hands-on experience.

Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering, you should be a self-starter with strong written and verbal communication and an interest in structural, transportation and heavy‑civil

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering or related field.
• Interest in structural, transportation and heavy-civil engineering.
• Self-starter with ability to work independently and communicate clearly.

Responsibilities

• Support engineering teams with civil and structural plans, details and recommendations for projects.
• Assist with analysis and design of concrete, steel and timber structures, including bridges and walls.
• Participate in field visits, site investigations and project meetings.
• Shadow experienced engineers to gain hands-on experience.
