SSOE Group in Troy, MI is seeking a Structural Engineering Intern for Summer 2027 to support the structural engineering team on live projects. The role is onsite with close supervision and learning opportunities in department standards and tools.

You will gain experience with Revit/AutoCAD, AI-enabled workflows, and client deliverables, while developing organizational and collaboration skills essential for a growing engineering discipline. This internship includes training and mentorship.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in ABET-accredited Civil Engineering program with interest in Structural Engineering.
• Rising Junior or Senior preferred.
• Registered with the Office of Professional Experience Program or equivalent co-op office.
• Demonstrated organizational skills.

Responsabilités

• Perform tasks under close supervision of the Department Manager.
• Learn department standards, methods, and procedures.
• Use basic computer tools; Revit or AutoCAD skills are a plus.
• Meet deadlines for daily duties and special projects as assigned.
• Participate in occasional local client visits (local travel may be required).
• Maintain required credentials for travel (valid driver’s license as required).

The intern will perform assigned tasks under close supervision, learn department standards and tools (Revit/AutoCAD a plus), and use AI-enabled tools provided by the company to enhance productivity.

SSOE Group is seeking a Structural Engineering Intern for Summer 2027 to work onsite in the Troy, MI office. The intern will perform assigned structural engineering tasks under close supervision, follow department standards and procedures, and support project deliverables on schedule and within budget.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform assigned tasks under the close supervision of the Department Manager or designee.
• Receive and follow specific, detailed instruction and learn department standards, methods, and procedures.
• Use basic computer tools; Revit or AutoCAD skills are a plus.
• Meet deadlines for daily duties and special projects as assigned.
• Participate in occasional local client visits (local travel may be required).
• Maintain required credentials for travel (valid driver’s license as required).

Requirements

Location & Work Arrangement

This is an onsite position in Troy, MI. Daily in-person attendance is required; remote or hybrid work is not available.

Compensation

Salary range: $20 - $23 per hour, depending on year in school.
