Job summary

Foth, a 100% member-owned science and engineering consulting firm, invites applications for a Structural Engineering Intern in our Mehoopany, PA office. This Summer 2027 internship provides hands-on experience supporting design, analysis, and rehabilitation of structural systems for industrial facilities.

You will apply structural design fundamentals under a lead engineer, develop detailed drawings using CAD, and gain exposure to industry tools and practices at client sites.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
• Experience with 2D/3D CAD software.
• Coursework involving the design of concrete or steel structures.

Responsibilities

• Apply structural design and engineering fundamentals.
• Perform tasks under the supervision of a lead engineer.
• Develop detailed structural drawings using 2D and 3D CAD packages.
• Assist with validation of software and drawing databases.

As a Structural Engineering Intern in our Mehoopany, PA office, you’ll work directly at one of Foth’s client locations, supporting the design, analysis, and rehabilitation of structural systems for industrial facilities. This Summer 2027 opportunity will expose you to industry tools and practices while giving you opportunities to solve real engineering challenges.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Apply structural design andengineering fundamentals
• Perform tasks under the supervision of a lead engineer

Required Qualifications:

• Pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited program
• Previous experience with and/or coursework involving 2D/3D CADsoftware
• Previous experience with and/or coursework involving the theory of and/or designing of concrete or steel structures
