Job summary

Foth is seeking a Civil Engineering Intern to join our coastal infrastructure team in Newport, RI or Marion, MA for Summer 2027. You will work with experienced engineers on dredging, permits, design support with AutoCAD Civil 3D, and field surveys to protect coastlines and support navigation nationwide.

Qualified applicants are pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Civil or Ocean Engineering from ABET-accredited programs, with a GPA of 3.0+ and AutoCAD Civil 3D experience.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Ocean Engineering, or similar ABET-accredited program.
• GPA of 3.0 or greater.
• AutoCAD Civil 3D experience.

Responsibilities

• Work directly with team members on dredging, environmental permitting, civil and coastal engineering fields
• Conduct topographic & hydrographic surveys and 3D drone scans with certified team members
• Assist with structural inspections and construction oversight activities
• Support design work utilizing AutoCAD Civil 3D
• Prepare local, state, and federal permit documents
• Assist with data management and report preparation

We are seeking a Civil Engineering Intern to support our coastal infrastructure team inNewport, RI or Marion, MA for Summer 2027. You’ll work alongside experienced engineers and gain experience in waterfront engineering, including structural inspections, hydrographic surveying, dredging, construction management, and more! Primary Responsibilities:

• Work directly with team members on various project deliverables in the dredging, environmental permitting, civil and coastal engineering fields
• Conduct topographic & hydrographic surveys and 3D drone scans with certified team members
• Assist with structural inspections and construction oversight activities
• Support design work utilizing AutoCAD
• Prepare local, state, and federal permit documents
• Assist with data management and report preparation

Required Qualifications:

• Pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Ocean Engineering, or similar engineering field from an ABET-accredited program
• GPA of 3.0 or greater
• AutoCAD Civil 3D experience
