Job summary

AHBL Inc. in Tacoma, WA is seeking a Structural Engineering intern to work with experienced engineers on real-world projects. You will apply your classroom knowledge to design tasks and learn hands-on detailing in Revit or AutoCAD.

This 12–14 week summer internship starts in May or June, averaging about 40 hours per week, with compensation of $23–$25 per hour; prior coursework in structural/civil/architectural engineering preferred.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a Structural, Civil, or Architectural Engineering degree program and have completed Junior level coursework.
• Experience in AutoCAD, Revit, and structural analysis software

Responsibilities

• Assist with lateral force calculations for wind and seismic design.
• Contribute to structural design of roof and floor framing.
• Size beams and joists, wall framing, and foundation elements.
• Create 3D analytical models and learn structural detailing in Revit or AutoCAD.
