Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking a Structural Engineering Intern to join a project team and assist engineers in executing project work related to power plant systems and structures.

You will gain hands-on experience in calculations, drawings review, and design for steel and concrete foundations, supported by experienced engineers. A summer 2027 start is anticipated, with no sponsorship for work authorization in the U.S.

Qualifications

• Active enrollment in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Structural/Civil Engineering or Architectural Engineering.
• ABET-accredited program preferred.
• Coursework in steel and concrete design is preferred.
• Proficiency with MS Office applications.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation of engineering calculations, specifications, and designs.
• Assist in the review of structural design drawings and vendor drawings.
• Directly apply knowledge of materials, structural analysis, structural steel design, and reinforced concrete design.
• Support a team of engineers and designers in performing structural analysis and design of steel frames, connections, concrete members, equipment and piping supports, and foundations.
