Job summary

Burns & McDonnell in Austin, TX is seeking an Engineering Intern to support standard engineering design tasks, update designs, and assist lead engineers on Transmission & Distribution projects. The role emphasizes practical learning in a collaborative, project-based environment.

Ideal candidates are pursuing a Civil or Structural Engineering degree, with ABET accreditation preferred, strong communication skills, and active campus involvement.

Qualifications

• Pursuit of a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related field from an accredited program.
• ABET accreditation strongly preferred.
• Prior internship and/or related consulting experience preferred.
• Active involvement in campus or community activities.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
• Self-motivated and eager learner, aptitude to grow within the field.

Responsibilities

• Assist with filing, scanning, data entry, documentation, and Power Point presentations.
• Assist with responses to general questions.
• Participate in continuous improvement by collecting and analyzing data.
• Present solutions to concerns.
• Research solutions to project concerns; analyze and recommend solutions.
• Assist with ad hoc projects as assigned by managers.
