Job summary

HDR invites a Structural Engineering Intern to join our Downtown Denver team for Summer 2027. You will work with licensed engineers, BIM designers, and engineers-in-training on reading drawings, analysis, and Revit modeling to support real-world projects.

Gain hands-on experience in a collaborative, employee-owned culture and contribute to exciting structural challenges while exploring a potential full-time pathway after graduation.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an engineering degree program and pursuing structured coursework.
• Proven problem-solving and communication skills are essential.
• Ability to work in the HDR Downtown Denver office for a summer internship (approx. 9 weeks).
• Demonstrated interest in structural engineering and collaboration with project teams.

Responsibilities

• Learn to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
• Assist in engineering design and analysis to the extent of coursework and knowledge.
• Help produce structural models and drawings using Revit BIM software.
• Visit projects under construction to observe construction and inspection processes.
• Review contractor shop drawings for conformance to design drawings and specs.
• Work under supervision of a licensed structural engineer.
