Job summary

HDR is seeking a Structural Intern for Summer 2027 in our Downtown Denver office. This paid internship offers hands-on experience in structural engineering with potential for full-time employment after graduation.

You will work with licensed structural engineers, engineers in training, and BIM designers on diverse projects, gaining real-world exposure to design, modeling, and site visits in a collaborative, inclusive environment.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate Engineering program.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
• Basic Microsoft Office skills.

Responsibilities

• Learn to read and interpret drawings and specifications (Contract Documents).
• Participate in engineering design and analysis to the extent that your coursework allows.
• Help to produce structural models and drawings using Revit BIM software.
• Visit projects under construction to learn how structures are built and inspected.
• Review fabrication (shop) drawings from contractors for conformance to the design drawings.
• Perform other duties as required.
• All of your work will be performed under the supervision of a licensed structural engineer.
