Job summary

Hatch is seeking a Structural Engineering Intern to join our Project Delivery Group and support offices globally from our Tampa, FL office. You will assist senior engineers, engage in concrete and steel design tasks, and gain hands-on experience in a collaborative, in-person environment.

The role targets students pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in civil engineering from ABET-accredited programs, with a minimum 3.0 GPA.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in civil engineering from an ABET accredited university.
• Minimum cumulative 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale.

Responsibilities

• Assist senior structural engineers with developing project scopes including reinforced concrete, foundation and structural steel designs.
• Develop engineering estimates and cost estimates.
• Apply civil/structural engineering principles to provide timely, economical solutions in a multi-discipline project environment.
• Engineer design of repairs to structures or components under supervision.
• Work independently evaluating and applying standard engineering techniques and criteria.
• Gain on-site practical experience at the Tampa location.

Hatch is seeking a Structural Engineering Intern. Reporting to theProject Delivery Group, you will support offices globally working from our Tampa, FL office location.

Qualifications:

• Currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in civil engineering from an ABET accredited university
• Minimum of a cumulative 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale

As the successful candidate, you will:

• Assist senior structural engineers with developing project scopes including reinforced concrete, foundation and structural steel designs, engineering estimates, capital cost estimates and developing repair methodologies
• Use the application of civil/structural engineering principles to provide efficient, effective, economical and timely solutions to design problems in a multidiscipline project environment
• Apply innovative engineering solutions
• Engineer design of repairs to structures or components
• Work independently evaluating, selecting, and applying standard engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria, using judgment in making minor adaptations and modifications
• Directly apply and develop knowledge in structural steel,concreteand foundationdesign forbuilding and equipment supportstructures
• Gain valuable on-site practical experience

You bring to the role:

• Knowledge of structural steel and concrete design is a plus
• Knowledge of AISC and ACI codes is a plus
• Successfully passing Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) Exam a plus
• Previous co-op or internship experience is an asset
