Job summary

Hatch is seeking a dynamic Junior Structural CAD Designer to support our Project Delivery Group from the Tampa, FL office. You will assist with project requirements, produce and maintain 2D and 3D drawings, and help with conceptual layout and design details.

This entry-level role expects a recent graduate with CAD software proficiency (Revit, AutoCAD, or Bentley MicroStation), a minimum GPA of 3.0, and a willingness to learn in a collaborative, in-office environment with occasional remote work.

Qualifications

  • Recent or soon-to-be graduate with relevant CAD skills.
  • Preferred AS Degree in CAD; GPA minimum 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
  • No 4-year engineering degree required.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with delivery of project requirements related to scope, quantities, cost, and schedule.
  • Produce and maintain 2D and 3D CAD drawings using required software.
  • Perform conceptual layout and develop design details.
  • Check drawings before release and ensure coordination with other designers and engineers.
  • Perform clash detection and participate in engineering reviews.
  • Verify onsite dimensions for existing facilities and incorporate safety in design.

Hatch is seeking a dynamic Junior Structural CAD Designer. Reporting to the Project Delivery Group, you will support offices globally working from our Tampa, FL office location.

Qualifications
  • Roles at this level are filled by recent or soon to be college graduates with little or no professional experience but possessing relevant skills
  • Preferred Associates of Science Degree in Computer Aided Drafting (CAD)
  • Minimum of a cumulative 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale

We are not seeking candidates with a 4-year degree in engineering for this position.

As The Successful Candidate, You Will
  • Assist with the delivery of project requirements as they relate to scope, quantities, cost, and schedule
  • Produce and maintain technical and engineering drawings using 2D and 3D CAD software as required
  • Perform conceptual layout work
  • Develop design details
  • Check drawings prior to release
  • Ensure coordination with designers and engineers within the discipline and with other disciplines
  • Perform clash detection of models with other discipline models
  • Participate in formal engineering review processes
  • Verify onsite condition and dimensions relating to existing facilities
  • Incorporate safety in design
  • Gain valuable on-site practical experience
You Bring To The Role
  • Proficient in the use of 2D and 3D structural design/drawing software packages, including Revit, AutoCAD, and/or Bentley MicroStation software
  • Knowledge of industry or regulatory standards, regulations and codes pertinent to structural design is an asset
  • Previous co-op or internship experience is an asset
