Job summary

Hatch Ltd. in Pittsburgh, PA, is seeking a dynamic Junior Structural Engineer to join our Project Delivery Group. Reporting to the Project Delivery Group, you will support offices globally while based in our Pittsburgh office location.

We value candidates with a recent civil engineering degree, knowledge of structural steel and concrete, and familiarity with IBC/ACI/AISC codes. This role offers in-office collaboration with some remote flexibility and opportunities to grow in a global engineering

Qualifications

• Minimum GPA 3.0 on a 4.0 scale

Qualifications:

• Roles at this level are filled by recent or soon to be university/college graduates with little or no professional experience but possessing relevant skills
• Preferred bachelor’s or master’s degree in civil engineering from an ABET accredited university
• Minimum of a cumulative 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale

As the successful candidate, you will:

• Assist the Lead Structural Engineer in developing project scopes, engineering estimates, capital cost estimates and developing repair methodologies
• Apply Civil / Structural engineering principles to provide efficient, effective, economical and timely solutions to design problems in a multidiscipline project environment
• Directly apply and develop knowledge in structural steel,concreteand foundationdesign forbuilding and equipment supportstructures
• Design structures and components
• Gain valuable on-site practical experience

You bring to the role:

• Knowledge of structural steel and concrete design
• Knowledge of using IBC, ACI and AISC code
• FE / E.I.T certification in hand and asset
• 3D analytical softwareexperiencesan asset
• Previous co-op or internship experience is an asset

• Perform assignments related to your sector
• Assist with preparation of detailed design for projects
• Support preparation of drawings from detailed notes and specifications
• Coordination with other technicians/engineers on projects
• Provide support to Senior Engineers and Designers as and when needed
