Job summary

Hargrove is seeking a Civil Engineering intern/co-op to assist in routine designs and cost studies under supervision. You will use CAD tools (AutoCAD or MicroStation) and support the drafting team while learning construction detailing.

The ideal candidate is enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s program in Civil Engineering with a GPA of 2.7 or higher, and has basic skills in Word, Excel, and Outlook. This role emphasizes hands-on learning and collaboration.

Qualifications

• Enrollment in a Bachelor or Master of Science in Civil Engineering is required
• GPA of 2.7 or above is required
• Structural coursework within internships or co-ops is preferred

Responsibilities

• Assist in routine designs of less complex engineering tasks under supervision
• Assist in developing conceptual layouts and cost studies
• Assist in producing estimate level preliminary designs and material take-offs
• Assist in producing detail design calculations and sketches for materials of construction
• Assist in designs emphasizing constructability and client requirements
• Assist the drafting group with routine layout/detail issues
• Assist with filing, print scanning, copying and other departmental support tasks
