Job summary

Hargrove is seeking a Mechanical Engineering student for a internship role focused on routine design tasks and drafting support. You will work under supervision to develop conceptual layouts, compute preliminary designs, and produce detailed calculations and drawings while using CAD tools such as AutoCAD or MicroStation.

Strong communication and teamwork are essential as you collaborate with engineers across projects.

Qualifications

• Familiarity with design standards and codes.
• Working knowledge of CAD software, either AutoCAD, Microstation or both.
• Proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
• Good communication skills, both verbal and written.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine designs of less complex engineering assignments under direct supervision.
• Assist in developing conceptual layouts and studies to determine efficient approaches.
• Assist in producing estimate level preliminary designs and material take-offs.
• Assist in producing detailed design calculations, spreadsheets, reports, drawings, and sketches for projects.
• Assist engineers and designers in resolving routine layout and detailing problems.
