Job summary

AECOM is seeking a Structural Bridge Engineering Co-op in Boston, MA starting January 2027. You will assist in design, analysis, and inspection of bridge projects under senior staff, gaining hands-on experience in a dynamic, multidisciplinary environment.

Hybrid work options are available, with opportunities to contribute to field investigations across Massachusetts and to develop CAD drawings, calculations, and reports as part of a collaborative team committed to delivering safe, enduring

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering with at least two years completed.
• Experience with Excel and MS Word preferred.
• Familiarity with CAD (AutoCAD) and MathCAD is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist with report writing and setup.
• Development of field forms.
• Assist with data entry, editing and creation of drawings and table/charts.
• Development of plans and details utilizing CAD.
• Development of engineering calculations utilizing examples and guidance of senior engineers.
• Field work involving hands on inspection of bridges, tunnels, and/or parking structures throughout Massachusetts. Documenting field observations and findings.
• Some night work.
• Support senior and junior engineers with engineering related tasks.

This Co-op position is to work under the direction of project engineers and team members to assist in the design, analysis, or inspection of bridge and tunnel projects. Work could include producing design calculations, plans, estimates, specifications, performing inspections, or writing technical reports, under the direction of senior staff.

Job Responsibilities

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

• Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering and must have completed two years of study.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Excel and MS Word.
• Experience with CAD programs such as AutoCAD is a plus.
• Experience with MathCAD is a plus.
• Experience with modelling software is a plus.
• Having OSHA 10 hour is a plus

Offered rate of compensation will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The range for this position is $26 to $30.
