Job summary

A design services company in Nashville is seeking an Entry-Level Structural Engineer to support projects with construction drawings and coordination among disciplines. The ideal candidate will have a background in building design, excellent communication and client relationship skills, and a willingness to handle increasing responsibilities. Qualifications

• Preferred qualification includes a Certificate in Drafting and CAD Technology or an Associate degree in Design Engineering.

Responsibilities

• Layout of construction drawings based on preliminary architectural plans/models
• Adaptation of standard details to projects
• Detailing of unique conditions
• Coordination with other disciplines such as mechanical, electrical, etc.

Skills

• Previous experience working on building designs
• Proficient communication and client relationship skills
• Willingness to accept increasing levels of responsibility, and demonstration of continued and progressive technical and leadership experience
• Sensitive to client's needs, can develop positive client relationships.
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Able to work independently, or cooperatively and harmoniously with a team
• Prioritize, manage time, handle multiple tasks, and meet deadlines

Education Requirements

• A Certificate of Achievement in Drafting and Computer-Aided Design Technology or equivalent, or an Associate of Applied Science degree in Drafting and Design Engineering Technology preferred
