Job summary

Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems in the United States seeks a Structural Engineer or Principal Structural Engineer to join our team in Iuka, MS. The role focuses on stress analysis for flight hardware, repairs substantiation, and advanced finite element modeling of metallic and composite structures.

Basic qualifications include STEM degrees and DoD Secret clearance eligibility; preferred are experience with Femap/Nastran/Abaqus and leadership in structural analysis.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in STEM or higher required with related engineering experience.
• Experience with composite and metallic materials and allowable data.
• Experience with finite element analysis and structural analysis methods.
• Ability to obtain and maintain DoD Secret clearance within a reasonable time.
• Knowledge of aerospace practices and ability to lead engineers in structural analysis.

Responsibilities

• Provide stress analysis to support dispositions of flight hardware.
• Substantiate repairs for discrepant parts and assemblies from composite materials.
• Perform finite element modeling of metallic and composite components.
• Collaborate effectively with team; strong communication is essential.
• Apply static, fatigue, dynamics, and damage tolerance analysis as needed.
