Job summary

Haven in Secaucus, NJ is hiring a Structural Engineer focused on product development. You'll design and validate new structural systems, prototype components on the manufacturing floor, and push designs into production with cross‑functional teams.

This role emphasizes building reusable, scalable wall assemblies and automated workflows, using AI tools to accelerate calculations while maintaining rigorous engineering oversight. On-site collaboration is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• 3–6 years of structural engineering experience.
• Experience with structural analysis tools such as RISA, ETABS, or equivalent.
• Working knowledge of cold-formed steel design and building codes.
• Hands-on experience with structural testing, prototyping, or validation.
• Comfortable using AI tools as part of engineering workflows.
• Strong technical judgment, curiosity, and bias toward action.

Responsibilities

• Design and optimize cold-formed steel wall systems, connections, framing assemblies, and new building components.
• Simulate, build, and test: validate designs through prototyping and physical testing.
• Engineer for manufacturing: reduce material usage, simplify connections, and improve installation.
• Build reusable engineering systems: create validated wall assemblies and regional standards.
• Own path to production: take concepts from design through analysis, testing, and documentation.
• Make engineering AI-native: use AI, scripting, and automation while maintaining oversight.
• Collaborate across disciplines: work with product designers, operators, project teams and external engineers.
