Job summary

Selectek is seeking a Structural Engineering Professional to join the design team in Tempe, AZ. You will perform structural analysis and design for projects, collaborating with Structural Lead, engineers, designers, and other disciplines, applying US building codes including seismic provisions.

You will take on responsibility, develop concepts, check work, mentor junior staff, and advance workflows with emerging technologies while growing your career.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering with emphasis in Structural Engineering.
• Professional Engineer License (PE/PEng).
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in structural engineering.
• Experience with US building codes (IBC, ASCE 7, ACI, AISC).
• Experience with structural engineering analysis software, Navisworks and Bluebeam.
• Experience designing and analyzing traditional steel and concrete structures.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform conventional structural analysis and design under supervision.
• Plan and conduct work selecting engineering techniques and criteria.
• Exercise sound engineering judgement and seek guidance when needed.
• Demonstrate knowledge of lateral analysis and design (wind and seismic) per code.
• Maintain high attention to detail and quality control.
• Check others' work and mentor designers/drafters.
• Manage workload, meet schedule, budget, and quality requirements.
• Forecast level of effort and identify scope changes.
• Proactively advance workflows and adopt new technologies.
