Job summary

Jackola Engineering & Architecture in Kalispell, Montana seeks an experienced Structural Engineer (PE) to lead and mentor design staff on a variety of building projects across Montana and the region.

The ideal candidate has a PE license, 5+ years' experience designing wood, steel, concrete and masonry structures, strong knowledge of codes, and excellent communication and leadership skills. Occasional travel for site visits may be required.

Qualifications

• PE license required for Structural or Civil Engineering.
• 5+ years of experience since graduation.
• Experience designing structural systems with wood, steel, concrete, masonry.
• Strong knowledge of building codes, structural analysis, and value engineering.
• Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Ability to mentor junior staff while managing project responsibilities.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor structural design staff through project phases.
• Develop practical, constructable structural solutions.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on concepts, drawings, and specs.
• Coordinate with clients, contractors, vendors, and internal teams.
• Ensure designs meet quality standards and project requirements.
• Use industry software to analyze gravity, lateral, and foundation loads.
• Support construction administration and respond to contractor questions.
• Contribute to a collaborative, team-focused environment.
