Job summary
Jackola Engineering & Architecture in Kalispell, Montana is seeking a licensed Senior Structural Engineer to join as Discipline Lead. You will guide structural design, drafting standards, and QA across the firm, mentoring staff and coordinating with multi-disciplinary teams to deliver high-quality projects.
The role requires a PE license (SE a plus), 10+ years of experience, and strong knowledge of wood, steel, concrete and masonry systems.
Qualifications
- Licensed Structural Engineer (PE); SE designation a plus.
- 10+ years of post-graduate experience in structural engineering.
- Experience with wood, steel, concrete and masonry structures.
- Strong knowledge of building codes and value engineering.
- Proficient in design, documentation, QA, and cross-discipline coordination.
- Excellent written and verbal communication; detail-oriented.
- Proven leadership, mentoring, and delegation abilities.
Responsibilities
- Lead development and maintenance of structural design standards.
- Monitor QA, peer reviews, and construction feedback for excellence.
- Serve as primary technical resource for structural matters.
- Mentor staff and develop training opportunities.
- Evaluate candidates and assess technical competency and fit.
- Guide design challenges and develop solutions.
- Collaborate to establish cross-disciplinary best practices.
- Lead structural design staff through project phases.
- Work in multi-discipline teams to develop drawings and specs.
- Respond to contractors during construction.
