Job summary

Coffman Engineers’ Seattle office is seeking a Structural Engineer with four to eight years of experience to design commercial and industrial structures as part of a multi-disciplinary team. The successful candidate will be enthusiastic, collaborative, and eager to grow with the firm.

The role requires PE certification and experience with IBC/US standards; Master’s degree preferred. We offer a competitive salary and a comprehensive benefits package in a modern office near downtown Seattle.

Qualifications

• A four-year degree in Civil/Structural Engineering or a related field.
• Master's Degree in Structural Engineering (preferred).
• Registration as a Professional Engineer (PE).
• 4 to 8 years of experience in the structural design of buildings or similar structures.
• Experience with computer software programs and analysis systems (such as Microsoft Office, Revit, RISA, ETABS, etc.).
• Design experience with various materials – steel and concrete; masonry, wood and light gauge (preferred).
• Knowledge and experience with the International Building Code (IBC) and US design standards; experience with ASCE 41 (preferred).
• Excellent leadership, supervisory, and writing and verbal communication skills
• Experience and ability to maintain working relationships with clients
• Experience as a project manager (preferred)
• Experience working as part of a multi-discipline team (preferred)
