Job summary

RESPEC is seeking an experienced Structural Engineer (PE) to join our Denver, Colorado office. You will work on a range of projects from hospitals and schools to high-profile commercial buildings, collaborating across offices and with architects and other engineers.

The ideal candidate has a PE license, a master’s in Civil or Architectural Engineering with a structural emphasis, 4–5 years of experience, and proficiency with structural analysis software (RISA/STAAD/SAP).

Qualifications

• MS in Civil Engineering or Architectural Engineering from an accredited institution with a structural emphasis.
• Professional Engineering registration.
• Experience in steel, wood, concrete, and precast/prestressed concrete design.
• Knowledge of construction practices and methods.
• Minimum 4-5 years of experience in structural engineering.
• RISA, STAAD, SAP, or similar Structural Analysis Software experience.
• Experience with preparing plans, specifications, and design calculations.
• Self-motivated, energetic, and able to take on new tasks.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team.
• Detail oriented and well organized with demonstrated ability to meet deadlines.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Desire to learn and advance in technical skills and understanding. Must possess a valid driver's license and maintain a clean driving record; position requires operating a company or personal vehicle during work hours for business-related travel.
• Structural Engineering License (SE)
• Revit experience
• Experience with review of structural construction.
• Experience in community and /or volunteer organizations demonstrating a desired connection to the community
• Interest in continued professional development

Responsibilities

• Perform structural analysis and design for new construction, investigations, and renovations.
• Interpret building codes and standards and prepare structural plans and details.
• Conduct construction observations for structural projects.
• Collaborate with architects, civil, mechanical, electrical engineers.
• Ensure design meets stakeholder expectations.
