Job summary

RESPEC is seeking an experienced Structural Engineer (PE) to join our Denver, Colorado office. This role supports design and analysis for hospitals, schools, and high-profile commercial buildings across the nation.

You will interpret building codes, prepare plans, perform observations, and collaborate with architects and other engineers. A MS in structural emphasis, PE registration, 4–5 years' experience, and proficiency with RISA/STAAD/SAP are preferred.

Qualifications

• MS in Civil Engineering or Architectural Engineering from an accredited institution with a structural emphasis
• Professional Engineer registration
• Experience in steel, wood, concrete, and precast/prestressed concrete design
• Knowledge of construction practices and methods
• Minimum 4-5 years of experience in structural engineering
• RISA, STAAD, SAP, or similar Structural Analysis Software experience
• Experience with preparing plans, specifications, and design calculations
• Self-motivated, energetic, and able to take on new tasks
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team
• Detail oriented and well organized with demonstrated ability to meet deadlines
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Must possess a valid driver's license and maintain a clean driving record; travel may be required

Responsibilities

• Support new construction, structural investigations and rehabilitations/renovations in collaboration with architects and civil and other engineers
• Prepare structural plans and details and conduct construction observations
• Interpret building codes and standards to meet stakeholder expectations
• Collaborate across multiple offices on projects
• Work on projects for hospitals, schools, and high-profile commercial buildings across the nation
