Job summary

Nucor Buildings Group Texas is seeking a Professional Structural Engineer to design all aspects of metal building systems, including steel frames, wall and roof panels, and bracing. You will apply industry codes and perform structural analysis using our proprietary software, collaborating with the detailing team to deliver safe, economical projects.

Ideal candidates hold a US ABET-accredited civil or architectural engineering degree and PE registration (or 3–5 years of experience).

Qualifications

• ABET Accredited BS in Civil or Architectural Engineering.
• PE license in the United States or 3–5 years of structural design experience.
• Strong knowledge of building codes: IBC, ASCE7, AISI, etc.
• Proficient in verbal and written English communication.

Responsibilities

• Creative design of safe and economical metal building structures, meeting project requirements and codes.
• Technical analysis using proprietary software for frame, bracing, and panels.
• Collaborate with detailing department to communicate design requirements.
• Review and check structural drawings for accuracy.
• Continual learning and cross-team collaboration to explore innovative solutions.
