Job summary

Nucor Buildings Group is seeking a Structural Design Engineer to design all aspects of our metal building systems, including structural steel, wall and roof panels, secondary members, and stability bracing. You will ensure designs meet safety standards and code requirements.

In this role you will use proprietary software for frame, secondary, bracing, crane, mezzanine, and panel analysis, and work closely with the Detailing Department to communicate design needs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Civil or Architectural Engineering from an ABET-accredited school.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English, verbally and in writing.
• Fundamentals of Engineering exam completed prior to hire.

Responsibilities

• Design all aspects of metal building systems, including structural steel, wall and roof panels, secondary members, and stability bracing.
• Perform frame, secondary, bracing, crane, mezzanine, and panel analysis using proprietary software.
• Collaborate with the Detailing Department to communicate design requirements and ensure project execution.
• Review structural drawings for accuracy and compliance with codes and standards.
• Continually learn and grow by collaborating with multiple teams within the division.
