Job summary

Thornton Tomasetti is seeking an Engineer Intern for Summer 2027 in our Structural Practice in Newark, NJ. You will gain hands-on experience on real-world projects across high‑rise buildings, cultural institutions, sports venues, and transportation facilities, collaborating with a team of professionals in a dynamic environment.

You will contribute to analysis, design and detailing of diverse materials, and gain practical BIM experience with industry tools, while supporting project deliverables

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a degree in civil, structural, or architectural engineering.
• Strong academic record and passion for structural design.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to structural analysis, design and detailing of steel, concrete, masonry and timber systems.
• Collaborate with engineers, architects, and other design professionals to deliver coordinated designs.
• Assist in preparing construction drawings within a BIM environment using industry-standard tools.
