Job summary

Thornton Tomasetti is offering a Structural Engineer Intern position for the summer of 2027 in our Structural Practice and Construction Engineering Practice. You will contribute to analysis and detailing across steel, concrete, masonry, and timber systems while collaborating with engineers and architects to deliver coordinated designs.

You will assist in preparing construction documents within a BIM environment and gain experience with industry-standard tools such as Revit and RAM.

Qualifications

Current undergraduate or graduate student pursuing civil, structural, or architectural engineering.
Strong academic record and demonstrated passion for structural design and engineering problem solving.
Familiarity with SAP2000, ETABS, RAM, StructurePoint, and Revit is a plus.

Responsibilities

Contribute to the structural analysis, design and detailing of steel, concrete, masonry and timber systems across a variety of building project types.
Collaborate closely with engineers, architects, and other design professionals to support the delivery of high-quality, coordinated designs.
Assist in preparing construction documents and drawings within a BIM environment, gaining practical experience with industry-standard tools, workflows, and documentation practices.
