Job summary

Lake Superior Consulting in Omaha is seeking a Structural Engineer II to join our Facilities Engineering group. This mid-level role focuses on project engineering tasks requiring sound judgment and independent decision-making.

You will perform design and analysis, develop drawings and calculations, and coordinate with Designers/Drafters and clients to ensure compliance with codes and standards. The anticipated salary range is $78,000–$94,000 per year.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited B.S. in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• 2+ years of structural engineer experience.
• EIT required or obtainable within 6 months.
• Familiar with AutoCAD Civil 3D, RISA 3D, Navisworks, Bluebeam REVU.
• Knowledge of design codes such as ASCE 7, AISC 360, ACI 318.

Responsibilities

• Perform structural design and analysis calculations per codes.
• Layout and detail portions of projects under supervision.
• Provide CAD drawings or sketches for designers/drafters.
• Coordinate with clients and team to ensure compliance.
• Lead assigned projects and supervise other engineers.
• Attend client meetings and perform field observations.
• Organize, draft, and coordinate technical documents.
• Serve as project engineer leading design efforts.
• Work independently or in teams on construction plans.
• Apply engineering judgment for non-routine challenges.
