Job summary

Sierra Nevada Corporation is seeking a Structural Engineer II to design, analyze, and certify aerospace structures. You will perform advanced structural analysis, develop test plans, and work with cross-functional teams to ensure performance and compliance.

Ideal candidates have a relevant degree with 2+ years of experience and a readiness to obtain a U.S. Secret clearance. Hybrid work options and a strong benefits package are available.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Civil or related field.
• 2+ years in structural engineering or related role.
• Higher degree may substitute for experience.
• Proficient in structural analysis and design principles.
• Basic knowledge of Computer Aided Engineering tools.
• Experience in multi-disciplinary design teams.
• Ability to obtain and maintain U.S. Secret clearance.

Responsibilities

• Design and evaluate complex metallic and composite structures.
• Conduct advanced structural analysis and validation.
• Develop and execute test plans for structural components.
• Prepare and review technical documentation and reports.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to optimize structural designs.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, or Civil Engineering

Master's degree preferred

Strong understanding of structural analysis principles

Ability to obtain Secret security clearance

Tools

CAE tools (FEMA, Nastran, Patran, ANSYS)

FEA software experience
