Job summary

Fishbeck, a 100% employee-owned firm, seeks a Structural Engineer in Grand Rapids, MI. You will apply structural analysis and design across municipal, educational, industrial, and commercial projects, utilizing steel, concrete, masonry, and timber systems.

You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, prepare calculations and drawings, and participate in site visits. A BS in a structural ABET program and MI PE license (or reciprocity) are preferred, with knowledge of AISC 360, ACI 318, and

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering or Architectural Engineering with a structural emphasis from an ABET-accredited program.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license in Michigan preferred, or ability to obtain Michigan licensure through reciprocity.
• Familiarity with AISC 360 and ACI 318.
• Willingness to learn IBC, ASCE 7, AISC 341, ACI 350, ACI 530, and NDS.
• Familiarity with Revit modeling software.

Responsibilities

• Perform structural analysis and design using steel, reinforced concrete, masonry, and wood/timber systems.
• Work on a variety of project types including buildings, treatment plants, and tunnels.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary staff to provide consulting services for universities, municipalities, and developers.
• Assist with development of structural calculations, drawings, and documentation.
• Participate in project coordination and site visits as needed.
