Structural Engineer, Energy USA

You will join our structural department

As our new Project Engineer, you will be part of our energetic and driven group of structural engineers and architects. This is a position for a person who has passed the FE exam and plans to pursue Professional Engineering licensure within two years. The Project Engineer utilizes highly developed verbal and written communication skills to maintain a close relationship with project team members and clients from proposal through construction phase.

Your key tasks and responsibilities will be:

  • Completing assignments requiring a knowledge of engineering fundamentals and the application of these fundamentals to the production of engineering deliverables.
  • Executing a variety of engineering tasks including preparation of reports, investigatory studies, engineering design calculations and preparation of Contract Documents.
  • Maintaining routine communications with the project team members during proposal, design and construction phases of a project.
  • Reviewing schedules and budgets of projects under their supervision.
  • Preparing proposals and conducting efforts supporting business development activities.
  • Performing detailed checking of completed work performed under their direct supervision.
  • Visiting job sites to review work in progress, gain field experience, and advance practical engineering skills.

Ramboll offers engineering services for a wide range of projects. General project types include industrial buildings, water and wastewater infrastructure and office buildings. Additionally, we provide structural engineering services to support our growing energy division. Primary design materials include steel, concrete, masonry and timber.

From the moment you join Ramboll, we will support your personal and professional development so that you grow with the company. For this role, we believe your starting point is:

  • Bachelor’s Degree and 4+ years of relevant experience; or
  • Master’s Degree and 2+ years of relevant experience.
  • Proficiency with Finite Element Analysis software (Required).
  • Experience with Autodesk Revit (Preferred).
  • Successfully passed the FE exam (Required) with intent to pursue Professional Engineering Licensure within two years.
  • Gains knowledge through participation in technical societies and attendance at internal and external training programs.

Personal qualities that will help you succeed in this role include great interpersonal and communication skills as well as the ability to successfully work independently and on multidisciplinary teams.
