You will design and analyze gravity and lateral systems, collaborate with the EOR, and expand skills across timber, masonry, and steel. Proficiency in SAP2000/ETABS/RISA3D and Revit is preferred, with licensing support provided.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering is required.
  • Master’s degree with a structural emphasis is preferred.
  • 3+ years of full-time structural design and engineering experience.
  • Familiarity with IBC-style codes and U.S. standards.
  • EI preferred; PE license preferred or achievable.

Responsibilities

  • Support or lead gravity and lateral system design and analysis.
  • Collaborate with EOR to set codes, loads, and methods; seismic knowledge welcome.
  • Apply steel and concrete knowledge; expand to timber, masonry, etc.
  • Develop design solutions and review calculations, drawings, reports, BIM models (Revit).
  • Perform inspections and condition assessments of existing structures.
  • Support QA/QC and site observations; coordinate with project managers.
  • Progress toward leading as an EOR.

Celtic Engineering, Inc., a leader in structural and specialty engineering for the entertainment, hospitality, and aerospace industries, is hiring a Structural Engineer for our Windermere, FL office.

This role is for a civil/structural engineer with 3+ years of recent full-time experience who is ready for greater independence in design, analysis, and fieldwork. As the role scales with experience and proven skills, you may manage portions of projects, mentor other engineers, and contribute to complex solutions with opportunities to advance into a more senior technical or project management role.

What You’ll Do
  • Support or Lead gravity and lateral system selection, layout, and detailed analysis and design, contributing to workflow planning and project delivery.
  • Work with the Engineer of Record (EOR) to establish codes, loads, analysis methods, and tools; seismic analysis experience is a plus.
  • Apply experience with steel and reinforced concrete while broadening skills with timber, masonry, aluminum, and stainless steel.
  • Develop creative design solutions, evaluate alternatives, and prepare/review calculations, drawings, reports, and BIM models (Revit).
  • Perform inspections and condition assessments of existing structures, across all shifts as needed, and document findings.
  • Support construction administration through site observation reports and coordination with project managers.
  • Perform QA/QC reviews and progressively increase responsibility toward leading as an EOR.
What You’ll Bring
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (required).
  • Master’s degree with a structural emphasis (preferred).
  • 3+ years of recent, full-time structural design and engineering experience.
  • Familiarity with IBC-style codes and U.S. national standards.
  • Proficiency in structural analysis software (SAP2000, ETABS, RISA3D preferred).
  • Knowledge of BIM tools (Revit preferred).
  • Engineer Intern (EI) highly preferred; USA Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred or ability to obtain.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with critical thinking, initiative, and clear communication.
