Job summary

McElhaney Structural Engineers in Reno seeks a PE-licensed structural engineer to lead the design process from concept through construction documents for a variety of local commercial and residential projects. You will apply strong analytical skills, oversee detailing, and ensure safety and code compliance while coordinating with architects and other engineers.

Qualifications

• PE license in Nevada or ability to obtain within six months.
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• Minimum of four years of hands-on structural design experience for commercial or residential buildings.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and structural analysis software like RISA-3D or RAM.
• Strong understanding of current IBC and ASCE 7 building codes.
• Clear written communication for technical reports and construction documents.
• Working knowledge of Revit or similar BIM software is a plus.

Responsibilities
