Job summary

Parsons seeks a talented Facilities Structural Engineer (Intermediate) to join our team in Huntsville, Alabama, on the TEAMS NEXT Facilities Lifecycle Management Contract (FLCM) in support of Foreign Military Sales (FMS).

The role involves engineering and construction integration, planning, design, and cost estimation for multiple sites, with up to 50% travel (CONUS/OCONUS). A US citizenship and ability to obtain a Secret clearance are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering and 5+ years of related work experience; EIT may be required.
• Must be US Citizen with ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance
• Capable of providing engineering support for planning, design, construction, and maintenance of the physical and natural environments, and the administrative and mission facilities and infrastructure
• Familiarity with standard U.S. office software to include Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
• Willingness to travel up to 30-40 days at a time, domestic and international

Responsibilities

• Perform facility planning, design, real property and equipment acquisition, construction management, and cost estimating
• Support facility engineering designs, project teams, and on-site systems integration activities
• Develop Plan of Action and Milestones (POAM) documents
• Develop supporting engineering documents such as briefings, information papers and reports
• Support systems engineering integrated baseline reviews and project change management
• Coordinate with internal and external design/construction agents
• Brief customers and finalize engineering documents for approvals
• Travel up to 50% CONUS/OCONUS and international

Parsons seeks a talented Facilities Structural Engineer (Intermediate) to join our team in Huntsville, Alabama. This position is on our TEAMS NEXT Facilities Lifecycle Management Contract (FLCM), in support of Foreign Military Sales (FMS).

What You'll Be Doing:

• You will be on an integrated team performing engineering and construction integration and operations functions including but not limited to facility planning, design, real property and equipment acquisition, construction management, and cost estimating
• Supporting facility engineering designs, construction project teams, and on-site equipment systems integration activities for building systems and facilities at multiple sites
• Analyzing engineering tasking requirements, establishing structural scope and objectives, and developing Plan of Action and Milestones (POAM) documents
• Performing relevant engineering research; assist with developing supporting engineering documents such as briefings, information papers and reports for facilities and infrastructure
• Supporting systems engineering integrated baseline reviews, project change management and acquisition reviews
• Coordinating with internal and external personnel including design and construction agents
• Briefing customers, finalizing engineering documents and staffing through appropriate offices for approvals and decisions
• Traveling up to 50% of time, CONUS, OCONUS, and international

What Required Skills You'll Bring:

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (or related field) and typically 5+ years of related work experience. In addition, an Engineer-in-Training (EIT) Certificate may be required.
• Must be US Citizen with ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance
• Capable of providing engineering support for planning, design, construction, and maintenance/sustainment of the physical and natural environments, and the administrative and mission facilities and infrastructure of the Agency.
• Possess technical and engineering theoretical knowledge for structural or related engineering discipline.
• Capable of working as a team member to solve engineering problems.
• Expertise in execution of facility engineering, studies, and analysis. Works as a member of team and assists with solving complex problems.
• Familiarity with standard U.S. professional office software to include Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
• Flexibility to travel/deploy to customer sites for up to 30-40 days at a time, and up to 2-3 times per year. This includes both U.S. and international sites.

What Desired Skills You'll Bring:

• B.S. degree in Engineering, from an ABET accredited university, with 7+ years of relevant experience
• An M.E. or M.S. degree in engineering plus five years of relevant engineering experience may be substituted for the seven years of relevant engineering experience requirement.
• A B.S. degree in engineering and a Professional Engineer (PE) license plus five years of relevant engineering experience may be substituted for the seven years of relevant engineering experience requirement.
• Active Secret Clearance or higher
• Familiarity with Missile Defense Agency and Department of War projects
• Project management experience during site deployment, to include construction, master schedules, budget, and configuration management
• Experience developing policies, plans, processes, procedures, and guidance for site activation, system deployment, and site sustainment practices
• Experience developing and implementing program activities; coordinating efforts of multiple stakeholders, prime contractors and subcontractors, and support service personnel
• Experience mentoring junior level staff members

Security Clearance Requirement:

A security clearance is not required to apply; however, the selected candidate must be able to obtain a Secret clearance which requires U.S. citizenship, prior to the start date.
