Job summary

ACQCENTRIC INC seeks an Electrical Engineer with DoD facilities experience to support missile defense infrastructure. You will assist in planning, design, real property, and construction management, coordinating with design and construction teams and developing POAMs.

Candidates should be U.S. citizens with a Secret security clearance, able to work on-site in Alaska, and capable of briefings and reports while collaborating across functions.

Qualifications

  • BS in Electrical Engineering from ABET-accredited university; 7 years of relevant experience.
  • MS in Electrical Engineering plus 5 years of relevant experience may substitute for 7 years.
  • A BS in Electrical Engineering and PE license plus 5 years of relevant experience may substitute for 7 years.
  • Capable of providing electrical engineering support for planning, design, construction, and sustainment of facilities and infrastructure.
  • Ability to review facility design plans, specs, and contract documents.
  • Experience working in a team to solve engineering problems.
  • Familiarity with standard office software (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Must be a U.S. citizen; Security Clearance: Secret.

Responsibilities

  • Perform facility planning, design, real property and equipment acquisition, construction management, and cost estimating.
  • Support facility engineering designs, construction teams, and on-site systems integration.
  • Develop POAM documents and analyze engineering tasking requirements.
  • Prepare briefing papers, information papers and reports for facilities.
  • Support system engineering reviews and project change management.
  • Coordinate with design and construction agents and stakeholders.
  • Brief customers and finalize engineering documents for approvals.

Description

This position is on our TEAMS NEXT Facilities Lifecycle Management Contract (FLCM), in support of Department of War (DoW) missile defense military construction and facility sustainment.

Job Description (What You'll Be Doing)
  • You will be on an integrated team performing engineering and construction integration and operations functions including but not limited to facility planning, design, real property and equipment acquisition, construction management, and cost estimating
  • Supporting facility engineering designs, construction project teams, and on-site equipment systems integration activities for building systems and facilities
  • Analyzing engineering tasking requirements, establishing electrical scope and objectives, and developing Plan of Action and Milestones (POAM) documents
  • Performing relevant engineering research; assisting development supporting engineering documents such as briefings, information papers and reports for facilities and infrastructure
  • Supporting systems engineering integrated baseline reviews, project change management and acquisition reviews
  • Coordinating with internal and external personnel including design and construction agents
  • Briefing customers, finalizing engineering documents and staffing through appropriate offices for approvals and decisions
  • Travel is infrequent, up to 10% of time, CONUS and OCONUS

Required Skills (What Required Skills You Bring)
  • B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering, from an ABET accredited university, with 7 years of relevant experience
  • An M.E. or M.S. degree in electrical engineering plus five years of relevant engineering experience may be substituted for the seven years of relevant engineering experience requirement.
  • A B.S. degree in electrical engineering and a Professional Engineer (PE) license plus five years of relevant engineering experience may be substituted for the seven years of relevant engineering experience requirement.
  • Capable of providing electrical engineering support for planning, design, construction, and maintenance/sustainment of the physical and natural environments, and the administrative and mission facilities and infrastructure of the Agency.
  • Possess technical and engineering theoretical knowledge for an electrical engineering discipline.
  • Ability to review Architect/Engineer (A/E) facility design plans, specifications and contract documents as needed for various facilities
  • Capable of working as a team member to solve engineering problems.
  • Expertise in execution of electrical facility engineering and environmental policies, studies, and analysis. Works as a member of team and assists with solving complex problems.
  • Expertise in on-site construction management to include interaction with construction contractors and owner's representatives
  • Familiarity with standard U.S. professional office software to include Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Must be U.S. citizen
  • Security Clearance requirements: Secret
Preferred Skills (Desired but not Required)
  • Master of Science in Engineering
  • Professional Engineer (PE) License in any U.S. state
  • Familiarity with Missile Defense Agency and Department of War projects
  • Project management during site deployment to include construction, master schedules, budget, and configuration management
  • Experience with facility equipment controls systems, including design, acquisition, installation and checkout, and commissioning
  • Construction scheduling, scheduling software, and schedule analysis tools
  • Developing policies, plans, processes, procedures, and guidance for site activation, system deployment, and site sustainment practices
  • Developing and implementing program activities; coordinating efforts of multiple stakeholders, prime contractors and subcontractors, and support service personnel
  • Developing acquisition plans and supporting procurement actions and scopes of work
  • Experience mentoring junior level staff members
